Does that motherboard have a UEFI bios? If not that could be the problem, otherwise:
2012 is five years ago, that CMOS battery should be replaced anyways. I buy replacements at the Walgreens near here(drug store/pharmacy) since they are camera batteries too and the store has a shelf of different ones. Install the card and boot into the bios, not to the desktop. Look in the advanced section for the part where your graphics are detailed. Does it show your videocard? If not, this means that your motherboard is not detecting the card. If it is there then you need to set your card as the primary adapter to be used and disable your integrated graphics.
