Im in a dilemma and need a little help.

So I was running my Corsair vs550 with HD 7850 and FX 6300 for more than three years.

Then my technician told me that my gpu was dead. At the time I thought maybe I fried it (I had overlooked it!)

Recently when I took my PC back to the same technicians he said my motherboard has been damaged by the Power Supply and he installed a cheap crappy one.

Since the power supply is out of warranty my only option is to pay the service center to repair It.But since its a power supply I would kd never know if its safe for my pc or not.

So should I buy a new one? . And if so then which one? VS 550 is the best one available in my country.

I have also an option for antec 450w which is 80+ certified but 450 whatts enough? (I've bought a 1060).

That's the only power supply available in your country? The 450 is too small for what you have running there. I'm actually amazed the 550 was handling your rig. Look for a 650 or 750 if possible. And yes, it's very possible for a power supply to take other components out with it when they fail. I've lost a lot of hardware that way. That's why I always go overkill on my power supplies now.

I did a little research and found that Antec VP500 and Antec VP 650 are also available.

Are they good enough? and is 500w enough for me? Because every calculator that Ive used says the load wattage is less than 400 and even after overclocking barely exceeds 400.

As ive mentioned I recently bought a 1060 which has a recommended wattage of only 400.

So is Antec VP series worth it? and should I chip in to buy the 650w version?

I really don't wanna spend that much unless I really have to.
