Best free desktop recording program?

OBS is good software but nvidia has a program called Shadowplay also that records your desktop but I think you need an nvidia graphics card to run Shadowplay. I may be wrong here.
I use 4 monitors and use OBS to record whatever I select it to record (for my stock trading, I'm not a gamer). Works good and has many features.
Both are free to use.
