Is it worth to pay the extra for 6 GB GTX 1060 instead of 3 GB?

I've been trying to set up the ideal budget 1080p build, and after weeks of research I decided to settle down with a Gigabyte GTX 1060. The thing is, internet is really mixed about 1060's 3GB and 6GB variants, and I've seen arguments for both.

The thing is, the price difference is around $150 in my country, and that's a $150 I can easily invest in other parts. So I'm trying to decide if it's really worth buying the 6GB version.

While setting up my friend's new computer I saw that GTA V, for example, used around 3GB VRAM at maximum settings. That's bad because that probably means there will be many games out there I can't play maxed out due to a VRAM bottleneck. If it was 4 vs. 6 I'd easily go with 4, but 3 feels a bit low.

Anyone with experience to help out? Is it worth it?
