Hi folks.
I'm planning a new PC build, mostly for rendering/software development a ROG Maximus board, 4x1080ti GPU, memory and storage to suit.
The GPU's will take care of the rendering and the minimal gaming I do, but design environments and physics simulations will rely heavily on the CPU.
I used to be pretty up on processors but haven't worked in the business for a while. I'm guessing the i7 7700 is the way to go, but I get confused with the different versions, different speeds, threads etc. Or would I be better off going for a Xeon with more threads and cores and a lower speed?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.
