Reinstalling windows 7

So i want to do a fresh install of windows because i want to get rid of this HP bloat ware but i dont want to loose any data. Im wondering if i make a new partition on the drive (i have 545 GB availble) and install windows on the new partiton, will it format the partition or the whole drive?

Installing on a second partition introduces far more quirks than you want.

Either EasyTransfer, or just save what you want
Wipe the whole drive, and install to a clean slate.

Why don't you use Windows Easy Transfer to make a backup of your data. Re-install windows, and once you're re-installed run windows easy migration again to pull your data / settings back to the new installation. We use WEM all the time at work when our Win7 users get computer refreshes.
