Hello,
I currently own an xfx r9 285 and use a pentium g3258 and am looking to upgrade the CPU. I pretty new to pc builds and I was just wondering what the best CPU suggestion under $200 would be. I am looking at the intel i5-4690k! DirectX 12 usually sets graphics on all games to very high but I get like 15-20 fps on games like playerunkowns battlegrounds. I figured my CPU was the problem! Any help would be much appreciated!!!

The 4690k won't have any benefit over a 4690 paired with an h97 board as you won't be able to overclock it. That's the perk to a k series cpu, otherwise you may be paying more for a cpu than necessary. It's not clocked any faster than a 4690. Since you have an h97 and would be better off with a locked non k cpu you might consider the price of a 4590. It's almost as fast and usually a bit cheaper. If prices are extremely close then sure, consider the 4690 or if there's a good deal on the 4690k go ahead. It's just not worth paying a premium for the k version in your case.

The game in question is new and still in beta I believe and users are reporting lots of problems with much stronger hardware than you're using. You may have to wait and...

Less than 24hrs ago users on steam forums have said -
"i74790, 16gb and a GTX1070 and I get around 30-70 on low. This game is not optimized at all, and I doubt it will be for a long time."

"I have an i5-2500k stock 3.3 ghz ( I want to OC it but have no idea how to do it safely ) , 16gb ddr3 @ 1600mhz , gtx 1070 8gb. For me in game at start of match with 96 ppl I get 40-50 fps"

"Graphics Card: Gtx 980 TI 6Gb
Processor: Intel Core I5 3570K 3.4Ghz
Motherboard: Asus P8H77-I
Ram: 8Gb
OS: Windows 7

So I can´t play this game even on the lowest settings and my CPU Usage is always on 100%"

You get the idea. Folks are having a variety of issues from stutters to lag to low fps with newer i5's, i7's, gtx 1070's, 980's etc. Stronger than your r9 285. An i5 I'm sure will help, certainly won't hurt but don't go spending a ton of money on a game that's failing to run well on higher end systems.
