Recently I upgraded internet from 8mbps to 20mbps. Got a new modem to go with it. Now randomly while playing games whether someone is else home or not the ping and packet loss will shoot through the roof. It stays really bad for a long time then settles and there is no telling when it's going to happen again. I am directly connected through ethernet.

This is the information i have from Ping plotter:

IP: 104.160.131.3

Solution
Suggest you check the connection between your gaming computer and router. Packet loss = 46% ?

Are you using the motherboard ethernet port or a third party ethernet card? If the latter, check that the card is fully seated.

Try another known working ethernet cable.

Try another port on the router.
