I was wondering if for my FX 6300 which I plan to overclock upto 1.5v (not much) and GTX 1060 which I dont plan to overclock, will they work fine with VP 500 or should I chip in to buy the 650w model?

Every wattage calculator I used says 500w is fine.

And also is VP series good enough?

Solution
Antec claim it can output 500w continuous so there is some assurance there. They aren't 80+ certified to save verification costs. They are equivalent of Corsair's VS series PSUs. They are the worst Antec has to offer. Tier 4 at best. It will probably provide 400w of power on the crucial 12v rail but you will be pushing it a little bit with that FX cpu. You can run that system on the 500w psu but later on I highly recommend upgrading the PSU to one with a powerful single 12v rail. Multi rails are confusing and useless. Nearly most OEMs use single 12v rails nowadays.

I cant really afford anything better.

I have one last question though. Im new with PSUs so I wanted to know if VP500 is 80+ certified. I mean can it provide at least 400 W without any stability issues?
