i´m afraid to spend money now and see in a few months the prices of my cpu going down and be smashed by the new Coffe lake cpus, cause it is supposed to be a "toc".
Im gonna be a bit busy with my work in the next few months so maybe i will not use to much the computer, that´s why im wondering about this.

I'm waiting for coffee lake too, especially since its reported there will be 6C/12T desktop version. I was looking at the Ryzen hype, but similar to the RX 480 release, reviewers let all the hot air out of AMD hype machine, and in reality, it doesn't pay right now for me to get rid of my SkyLake i7-6700 or my Kaby Lake it-7700k cpus (and motherboards and memory). But Coffee Lake might just make enough difference to want to go that way.

The reality is, every year, there would be a "better" CPU (or GPU or other components) that would make you hesitate to buy a "current" one. If you wait until Coffee Lake, chances are, another higher-generation CPU will come knocking at your doorstep (i.e., Cannonlake) that will, again, make you second-guess if you would buy the Coffee Lake or the "newer" 10nm processor/socket-type for "future-proofing". Thus, the cycle goes on and you have ended up not buying any.

Truth is, if you really need a CPU (or PC) now, then get one now based on your current needs and determined by the current available CPU models.

If you project that you won't be using a PC as you said, then, it may be a good time to research the parts that you may need today based on today's components/benchmarks, so you'd have an idea of what you need and what you may be missing out on.
