hey guys so ive got a 8g (2 planks of 4g) Kingston Blu kit from 2012 (model KHX1600C9D3B1K2/8GX) running in my asus m5a97 r2.0 mobo and im looking to upgrade it to 16g :)

but i got 1 problem tho, this Blu kit is no longer manufactured and AFAIK was replaced by Kingston Fury series.

the question is: which Fury RAM would be 100% compatable with this old Hyper X Blu kit?

Nobody can tell you its 100% compatible. The fact its a different model years apart means they of course have different chips on them, and by now maybe even a different brand of chip.

My recommendation, try to find something (Kingston Fury) with timing that matches exactly (looks like 9-9-9-27) and hope for the best, but make sure you buy it from somewhere with a good return policy.

Otherwise, but a 2x8gb kit and just replace it.
