Hi,

I'm thinking of buying a Fractal R5 together with a MSI Z270 motherboard and and Asus Rog Strix GTX 1080 Advanced.

Because I had troubles in my current setup with a GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 970 WINDFORCE I wanted to ask the knowing first:

Can I fit the Asus Rog Strix GTX 1080 Advanced in a Fractal R5 while still having enough space for good airflow and cable management?

Solution
Yes, you would have enough space. The Fractal Design Define R5 can support GPU's up to 440mm long (when the drive cages are removed) and up to 310mm long (when drive cages are installed). The Asus ROG Strix GTX 1080 Advanced is 11.73" long (or ~298mm).

Here is what the GPU looks like when the drive cages are removed in the Define R5 (Source: https://pcpartpicker.com/b/r36XsY):

Yes, the GTX 1080 will have plenty of space in a R5 no worries at all. You can even move the drive cages to the bottom of the case and still have tons of space. No worries at all.
