hello,

I am brand new to building a gaming pc... as i know nothing at all and have never done it before. I have read mix reviews online about building a gaming pc vs. buying a fully built gaming pc like alienware.

I was wondering what would be the best path. I will be playing mostly simulators such as DCS world and other flight simulators. Along with War thunder. Ideally i would like to keep the price around 1,000. If possible could any one point me in the right direction and maybe some references on ideal and realistic components.

Thanks!

Building your own will get you a better PC - both for price and performance.
Alienware is really just a Dell with some better components, a flashy case and a high premium.

Flight simulator will require a strong CPU. The GPU doesn't matter so much in it.
War thunder runs well on just about anything. I play it too and my setup is a bit overkill for it.

What other games are you interested in? Do you intend to overclock?

Thanks for the answer. As of now just sticking to those main games of DCS world, Microsoft flight x, and war thunder. I have no plans for overclocking.
