New Maximus IX Hero (BIOS 0601). Do I need to rename BIOS file to M9H.CAP?

Hello,
Just installed my new 7700K on the Asus Maximus IX Hero, booted successfully to BIOS and now I am going around BIOS options.
I have downloaded the newest BIOS from here:
https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/ROG-MAXIMUS-IX-HERO/HelpDesk_Download/

The user manual says to rename to M9H.CAP

Is that necessary to do? I might think they want user to rename it so the flash BOIS function from USB without CPU in socket to recognize the file?
But I am at the BIOS setup and I can use the utility from inside the current BIOS.

Thanks

  1. Yes, it is mainly for the USB BIOS Flashback function. But in any case, it takes like two seconds to do -- so I'd recommend getting in the habit of doing it.

Just put together the same build you have and it boots but Bios doesn't show up. Any ideas?

This maybe late but you have to describe EXACTLY what happens:
    PSU lights on?
    PSU fan spins?
    System and CPU fans spin?
    Onboard code? lights? numbers?

You might have a problem in PSU, motherboard, CPU or ram! so effectively can be anything!
