Cpu and Gpu 100% usage

Hello community,

I recently built my new pc and did some testing. I noticed a 100% usage ingame for both cpu and gpu in Battlefield 1. I know that bf1 benefits from HT, but my i5 6600k should be fine.

100% gpu-usage is fine, because it simply does its best job, right? But a cpu under high load often means bottlenecking.
In witcher 3 the cpu usage is between 70% and 90% for most of the time.
So does it harm my cpu, if it runs at max load all the time in bf1? Bottlenecking ist not an issue for me, because the game runs at 100+fps. Or do you advice overclocking the i5 in order to squeeze out some extra performance?

Some specs that might help:
- i5 6600k
- asus z170p
- hyper 212 evo
- msi gtx 1070 gaming x
- 16gb ram @3200mhz

Maybe someone can help me out with this,
thanks in advice!

You don't need to keep an eye on the PSU. Your CPU/GPU uses about 240W, so even if you toss in another 60W for everything else you're looking at being around 60% load on your PSU.

I will note that overclocking can substantially increase power draw. Your PSU at 500W is pretty good for this system operating at standard clockspeeds. I suggest you explore how much more power you'll use before you dive into overclocking. Your PSU might be okay, it might not.
Your CPU and GPU can run at 100% all day long if temps are within spec. The one component you don't want to run anywhere near 100% load constantly is your power supply.

edit: If you bought an unlocked CPU and an overclocking capable motherboard, why are you NOT overclocking? That's the only reason to buy those components. Make sure you have a decent power supply and cooling.

Is there any way to keep an eye on the powersupply?

I've got a 500W psu with good efficiency, so I don't think that's a problem.

I built this setup just a few days ago and therefore didn't oc anything. I have to read some threads about this, so my cpu won't fry itself instantly :D
