My motherboard decided to fail one day last week, so I decided to replace it. Both are Asus B85 series so the motherboards were pretty much identical. After everything was said and done, I was having internet problems and couldn't get my ethernet working. I did a reinstall of windows manually and not form disk boot. I reinstalled all drivers and the computer is running great, except... My games are all choppy now, even my android emulator is choppy, and it shouldn't be. I tried reinstalling windows from boot disk but it doesn't let me choose any partition. It gives me some error stating, "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI systems, Windows can only be installed to GPT disks.

So what I'm thinking is all my issues may be boiling down to my old windows has some shadows in the background or something and it's messing up my computer. What do you guys think? I'm not really much of a computer guy so try to use lamens terms. :p

I did a clean install, added all my new drivers, updated all my drivers, updated windows files. It helped a little, but it still seems pretty slow. I can run two applications of nox, but I used to be able to run 4-5.

I was thinking it was my ram, but according to windows task manager,
Total 8098
cached 3081
available 2990
free 30

everything seems okay,

my cpu usage is pretty high though 96%

Can you think of anything else it might be?

The chipset was on the motherboard drivers right? I installed all drivers on that disk.

I've never done something like this before myself, I usually pay someone else to do it. So i'm not entirely sure wha tyou mean by 1607.
