Hello everyone,

I recently started working on 4K content (home/travel videos). And I have run into a bottleneck.

I have two PC's :
PC1 which I use for photo/video editing is a HP Elite 8200 SFF running i7 2600 with a Nvidia GeForce GT 710 card.
PC2 is running on a i5 4670 with HD4600 video card. This is primarily used for media storage and runs 24/7.

I use Davinci resolve for editing/colour grading works. Rendering is really choppy to the point that I can't edit video.

Here are my problems, with PC1 AFAIK has only 240W PSU, so pretty much can Only use a low profile video card.
If I buy a good video card and use it in PC2, the CPU might not be able to handle things. Presently CPU maxes out 100% when I try to render 4K video in Davinci resolve on a 1920*1080 timeline.

My budget is $500. I am looking at the 8GB RX 480 card. Would this have enough grunt for video editing ?

Please give me your suggestions. Thanks in advance !

The p1000 is a quatro gpu. It's specific purpose is video editing, 3d cad etc. It's not by any means a gaming card. It has drivers and support specifically tailored to doing such work, some of which the gaming cards are not really set up to handle.

Firstly, thanks for your reply.

Sorry for being a noob. You mentioned this card being low profile and low PSU friendly. Is there a strong reason for suggesting the p1000 against RX480 (or maybe the likes of GTX 1060). I will not be playing any games and my main focus is on video editing/rendering.

The HP elite offers me no room for upgrade, so I will be using the i5 PC which has 16GB RAM and 650W PSU.

Thanks in advance !
