Hello. I'm currently preparing to switch cases to one that has four 3 pin case fans. My motherboard is ASRock H97M Pro4, which only has 1 x 3 pin case fan header. I was wondering if it was safe to use a 4 x 3 pin splitter off of a single header of this motherboard (this one to be exact) without drawing too much power through a single header.

Thanks in advance

Check the sticker at the back label of your case fans. Take note of the Current Draw (in Amperes). If the total ampere/current draw of all fans would exceed 1A (or to be safe, allow for headroom at max. 0.75A), then you should decrease the quantity of fans connected to 1 header (or buy fans that have lower current draw). If all 4 fans would total less than 0.75A-1A, then you can use that splitter.

A motherboard fan header typically allows max. of 1A current, unless otherwise specified in the manual.

Thank you for the quick respone. I will double check with the max current of the headers of my mobo. The fans each draw 0.3 amps, so i will try connecting three to the splitter, and one to the 4 pin case fan header on my mobo.
