Hey guys, I could really use some help. I tried to over clock my 6600K. I have an EVGA Z170 FTW and it's always been a little weird when I OC. When I pressed F10 to save and restart, my PC showed the code, 4C. So I cleared the CMOS and proceeded to wait until it booted back up and try again. That didn't happen, the diagnostic thing on the Mobo showed "C". Looked it up and tried everything I could think of. I even took out the battery for 10 mins. Still not booting. Does anyone know what's going on?

If your mobo shows "C" it means usually means it's just not able to read the cpu/get power on it. I would check all the components and power connectors haven't come off in any way, and maybe even re-seat the cpu, and check if there's any bent pins or anything.

Can you still enter bios or not? Also the model of your mobo would help.

Sorry about that, I have a Z170 FTW from EVGA. I cannot get into the BIOS or anything. And I have done all that already. I wish I had another CPU to test but looks like I'll be taking it to a PC shop so they can test new CPU's and figure out if that's the problem.

Well yeah that might be the best thing to do since there's no clear problem with it (since you've tried a lot of things apparently) Is there a chance you fried the cpu when you tried to overclock it? That would explain the "C" on the mobo... well let's hope for the best, let me know how it goes.

Yeah that could have been it. Costly but good learning experience I guess. Thanks.
