i have a Cougar 1050w PSU

it makes a clicking sound about 1-3 times then it stops after a while it gives me a 1 to 3 clicking
sound when im using my computer.

ive cleaned it checked if wires are hitting my fan but everything is intact and clean.

ive built my own PC, can the parts i used somehow be too much for my PSU tat causes the
clicking sound once in a while?

GA G1 sniper M5
intel i5
8 gb ram
R9 270 toxic
120gb SSD
1TB WD HDD

any advice for the clicking sound? im really worried about it.

Thanks in advance.

Does the clicking noise comes from the PSU-fan? Maybe you can post a video on how it sounds because some fans have that kind of noise in certain rpms. 1050 watt is extremly overkill for that build so the power consumption is not the problem.

CURLEV, sorry i really dont have time to get you a video about the clicking sound, but to be precise it sounds like:

1st and 2nd click is like your pc is shutting down but only the clicking sound my pc is still running, after awhile it happens all over again.
i know its not the wires or anything if im not mistaken its more of an electricity surge on a BACKUP powersupply

finally i got sometime to finish this up, not the fan its the transistor and resistor thats making the ticking sound like a switch, is it safe or better to just change it.

MERGED QUESTION
Question from tinyboo1988 : "PSU clicking sound"

Well, try to discharge PSU first, disconnect power cable from psu (keep switch on) press and hold power button to discharge for around 30s~ .
It may be bad capacitor from my experience, usually some PSU click on shutdown as it discharges the electricity but keeps stand by voltage (5 SVB) on.
If any cap is bulged replace PSU, other may be interference.
For how long do you have it?
