Solution Colif Mar 14, 2017 Pretty sure you need a Z motherboard to overclock a K processor. So a Z270 would be needed (I think) so you might as well buy the non K model Pretty sure I am right unless its changed in 2 years: http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2065034/overclock-motherboard.html
