Hey guys, I've build a pc for my friend who is in need of an operating system, so i found this windows activator that has worked for me before and I was thinking of using it on his. I am a bit scared though, of it being a virus or something like that so I though maybe I could test it on something before I do it on his. I have a broken laptop that only works with the charger in (hp stream 11) and thought I could use it on that, so i got windows on a usband booted off it hoping that windows would not be activated, but it already is.
Is there a way to completely remove the operating system and start off like a brand new pc to see if the windows activator works?
Thanks guys! (by the way, I do not encourage the use of illegal operating systems)

You say that you do not encourage the use of illegal operating systems, but you are using a windows activator. Soundeth illegal to me. Please explain.

The best way to wipe an SATA hard drive is to use a utility like Parted Magic to issue the Secure Erase command. The drive will then wipe itself, which can take a heck of a long time for a hard drive.
