I've had a Q6600 and an old motherboard (came with it) hidden away for about a year now and Im thinking of building a computer with it. Both components work as I took them out of a working computer long ago, but the problem is I cant seem to find drivers for the motherboard.
Is there a reliable place to find drivers for old motherboards that I cant find?
I remember looking for drivers to no avail which is what lead to the q6600 not being used for so long.
Thanks :)

Component manufacturers will eventually stop support for their legacy hardware. I wouldn't expect to see Windows 8/8.1/10 drivers for such an old board, but the motherboard manufacturer is the first place to look.

If you do not find anything there, then your only option would be to look up each chip on the motherboard and see if the chip manufacturer has updated drivers for it. For instance, if you have a Realtek audio device on the motherboard, you would check out Realtek's web site to see if a newer driver exists for that particular component.
