Hello everyone, I would like to upgrade my PC, but I'm not sure which GPU should I chose.
First my setup is:

GPU: Asus HD7790 OC 1GB
CPU: FX 8320 OC 4.2
MB: Gigabyte 970A UD3P
RAM: 2x4GB 1866 Kingston Hyper X fury (probably buing another 2x4 set soon)
PSU: Corsair CX600
Case: old codegen case (from my setup from 2008) , can fit up to 28cm cards
current resolution is 1600x900 (1080p soon)

note: i'm not from USA, but I will tell you the prices in USD.
If you want to suggest me a new GPU, keep in mind, that the parts are near 45% more expensive compared to newegg.
For example:
GIGABYTE GTX 1060 Xtreme Gaming 6GB is 280$ in newegg and 400$ in my country.

Requirements:
I want a gpu that can run most games at (at least)60 fps at a decent settings (not ultra) at 1080p. Do you thing that 3GB of vram is enough for 1080 p and what would you suggest me.

I'm not going to set any budget, because I'm not going to buy a new GPU and the price of the second hand card vary. Just keep in mind that I can afford cards like 280x/290x, nothing more. (I think they will be enough for 1080p 60 fps, but if I'm wrong, I acceppt suggestions)
My current choice is Asus R9 280x 3GB for 130$

Is it powerful enough for my requirements and would you suggest me something else.
Thank you.

3GB of memory for 1080p should be fine and cover the vast majority of games on ultra, or high graphics settings. There will be a few that might max at medium with that amount of RAM, but it should be fine.

I can get GTX 1050ti for about 150$. But if I remember correct Nvidia GPU's at this price range were like 128 bit which I think will struggle If I attach another monitor in the future.

If you play any Fallout 4, you know how un-optimized it is, and even the GTX-980 has some serious slowdown in areas of the map. That said, Look for R9-390, R9-390x, R9 Fury, or R9 Fury-X on the AMD side, or the GTX-970, GTX-980, or GTX980ti on the NVidia side. These should keep the slowdowns in games like the aforementioned Fallout 4 more playable. (You can get a R9-Fury in the States for under $275 brand new.) Only bad thing is I don't really know the used market very well.
