Hi everyone,

Just want to know what the best 240mm cooler is for £110 or under. I also would like the fans that come with it to be good as well, because I heard the corsair stock fans are really loud.

Thank you for reading

Solution
All CLCs share common deficiencies:

-Cheap Aluminum rads have inadequate heat transfer capabilities
-No CLC pump (AFAIK ... not listed in specs) ) meets the 1 gpm minimum flow recommendation (H100i is 0.11 gpm)
-Mixing copper block and aluminum rad results in the creation of a galvanic corrosion cell
-Because system is sealed, can not replace corrosion inhibitors which inhibit corrosion
-To make up for alumin rads and low flow, extreme rpm fans must be used to compete with air coolers.
-No 240mm CLC can match the thermal performance / noise ratio of less expensive air coolers.
-To even get close to air coolers, they have to be as much as 12 time as loud.

I don't know how much the Corsair H100i V2 costs in GBP but in euro it is about 120-130 euros.
Best value for the money in my opinion. Great service from corsair if anything should go wrong.

Corsair H100i - 73C @ 68 dbA
NZXT Kraken X61 = 69C @ 56 dbA
Noctua NH-D15 = 70C @ 33 bbA
Swiftech H220-X = 65C @ 43 dbA

So ....

The H100i loses to the Noc air cooler by 3C but to get that close it needs to be 12 times as loud
The Kraken manages to eek an extra1C cooling win, but to do it, it must be more than 4 times as loud
The Swiftech H220-X crushes everything thermally but even it is twice as loud as the Noc

In short, the only 240mm coolers i can recommend are:

Swiftech H240 X2
EK Predator 240

Unfortunately, the Swiftech is not going to meet your £110 and under category as its rather highly priced in Europe.

£146.52 https://www.amazon.co.uk/Swiftech-H220-X2-H220-x2-Water-Cooling/dp/B01AOCEEJG
Thou here its listed for £133.83

newegg global as it for £123.99 which is pretty close to your budget limit

If the £123.99 is too much, can ony recommend the Noctua air cooler for £70.99

In a direct line-up sure, but either for aesthetics or easier installation they are a decent alternative to huge air coolers. You don't have to run them at the high noise levels, they will still provide adequate cooling at comparable noise levels.

Cost/Performance efficiency is shot, but that isn't why most people get them. (Hopefully)

It is the cheap $50-75 ones that are the real bad ones. When a $30 air cooler can keep up.

Why people get a CLC:

a) Aesthetic objection
b) You get to tell your friends you have water cooling

Personally, I'd rather see a nice well designed attractive heat sink, color matched to the build (i.e Phantek PH-TC14PE) than bent tubing. Anything in a build that is not straight and parallel to my eyes is aesthetically objectionable... and the huge doesn't go away as the radiator, if it's got a shot at competing, will be much bigger than the heat sink.

Yes, you don't have to let them perform at peak performance but you will if ya want that maximum OC. Why pay more to get less ?

Why pay $150 for a Kraken X62 when you can get a Swiftech H240 X2 for the exact same price which kills it thermally, is half as loud and has none of the above named deficiencies ?

You could go with something like the arctic liquid freezer 240 which beats the corsair 100i at a lower price and noise but make sure you have enough room to mount it in your case and corsair has a much better warranty.

P.S personally I would always go for an air cooler for peace of mind and lower price but that's just me.
