Is this old PC worth putting money into ?

So here in pieces, in front of me I have my old PC, last time I turned it on (1year ago) I heard a loud pop and a slight burning smell followed, so after closer inspection and plenty of research i came to the conclusion that it was my power supply. (Also checked to see if other parts were ok)

So today I pulled it apart to see what i had to work with and if it's worth putting the cash in for a new power supply and possibly some extras/upgrades if it really would benefit the PC. This would purely be for internet browsing, music, daughters homework, and "very light" gaming, nothing major.

So this is what i have.

AMD Phenom ii X6 1090T Black Edition 3.2ghz 6 core
MSI 870a fusion Motherboard
x2 Radeon HD 5830 running crossfire
x4 Corsair Vengeance 8gb (32gb ram)
640gb western digital Hardrive
Super Writemaster model SH-222
Cooler master HKM 8m52a-a2-gp-amd CPU cooler.

Sorry for being so specific with parts i am no PC genius (never really took one apart) but yeah let me know what you think thanks

Solution
^+1, good suggestions.

Also consider:
Add a cheap 120Gb SATA type SSD, format and scrub the current HDD and reinstall Windows and a few bits and pieces onto the SSD, depending on your light games 1280Gb may be enough storage anyway and the HDD can always be used for bulk storage if needed.

No need to go mad with the PSU but the old 5830 usually needs twin 6 pin PCI-E leads to run which will push up the price of the replacement part significantly, it may be a better choice overall to swap for a more modern, energy efficient card like the GTX1050 or RX460 and run with a lower cost, less cluttered power supply. Either would offer a significant upgrade over the current parts...

It is still a very capable PC. Get a good PSU that support that crossfire configuration. You could also think in installing an SSD for faster boot/applications speeds. You have plenty of ram on that Desktop.
Also, you could think on upgrading the GPU to a single 1060 or rx480 which would give you better performance and less energy and heat.

Best Regards

For a kids internet/homework machine why not.

Personaly I would take one of the GPUs out to keep it simplier and reduce the cost of a new PSU.

I would try to buy a PSU locally at least to test with so you can return it if ncessary.
If you had a low quality PSu no telling what else it may have fried.
