I just built a new system for the first time. Initially, the bios said the ram was running at 2133Mhz. However, I purchased ram that is supposed to run at 3200hz. After changing the XMP settings though, I believe I fixed the issue. However, I saw something in the bios that was still alarming. On the main screen, there is a section titled "DRAM status." In that section it shows what slots are filled with ram as well was other specifications. In both filled spots it displayed, "G-Skill 8192MB 2133Mhz." There is another section in the bios that gives contradicting information. The memory frequency area of the hardware monitor section reads, "Frequency- 3200Mhz." So with that said, is my RAM running at 3200Mhz?

Solution
I believe one just identifies the RAM sticks (2133 being the native speed), the other displays the actual frequency they are running at. No need for alarm.
