GTX 1080 ti custom cards - release date

Hello guys, when are the custom GTX 1080 ti cards from asus, msi evga etc most likely going to be released? I'm sitting here with my PC without a gpu, and don't want to buy the founders edition.

Or maybe I'll change my mind and buy a founders edition card if you guys have some good arguments.

Personally, I am waiting for the custom cards. Normally the custom cards should come out around 30 days after the availability of the stock cards. So I would say around April 11th myself.

I have an EVGA 1080 SC card and will use their "step up" program, which lets you upgrade cards within 90 days of the original purchase for the retail price difference. Of course, that means that the custom EVGA cards have to come out before my upgrade time expires :) The performance difference should be between 8 and 12% of the Founders Edition cards, so it may not be a big deal. Of course, the 1080 ti Founders Edition cards are still 25% to 35% faster in games than the normal 1080.

Most retailers have said they'll be getting stock of the AIB cards in April.



I highly doubt it'll be a difference of 10-12% for custom cards as the FE card I have (that many others have bought) is boosting up to 2000MHz and beyond on air with stock volts. I should think the only really difference will be a better cooling and updated PCB, power phases etc.

True, my 1080 SC edition only manages 5 to 7% over the Founders Edition for the normal 1080, but I am an eternal optimist. As far as the boost frequency goes, there will not be much of a difference in speed, but the third party cooling solutions should be able to keep up the boost longer with better cooling solutions. That equates to a slightly better experience.
