I've had my tower for about 2 years now and I've never had to upgrade it. So I'm pretty new to this. From what I'm seeing, I've removed the graphics card but the display ports are connected to the motherboard and not the graphics card. So is there anyway I can upgrade my graphics card without have to get a new motherboard too?

if i didnt mis-understood you can just buy a new card that has a display port (almost every modern gpu has this) and unplug the cable from the motherboard and plug it to the card, and you're all set, install the drivers , set proper...
The ports are for integrated graphics, this is what you'd use if you had no videocard. When you install a videocard then you connect the monitor to the videocard port not the motherboard port.

Since you removed your old videocard, this means you can add a new one. I'd need more info to advise you any further. Use Speccy to get CPU/motherboard information if you don't already know it.

Need full system specs, PC brand/model #, power supply brand/model/wattage, CPU, motherboard, case size/model, budget, for what exactly do you want the card (gaming, what games, movies, etc...?)
