Hello there.
I want to upgrade my PC but I was wondering if I can still use some of my rig's components for 4k gaming or if I'll need to buy every part in order to have a 4k PC? And could you guys give me some suggestions for monitor, GPU and for everything else that I possibly need, please?

My setup:

- MB: ASRock H81M-HDS
- CPU: i5-4460 Haswell @ 3.20GHz, 3199 MHz
- GPU: AMD Radeon R9 280 Tahiti 3GB DDR5
- Memory: 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz
- Monitor: Asus VS239H
- Storage: SSD 840 EVO + 1 TB HDD
- PSU: 500w If I remember correctly

Thank you so much for any replies.
Seeya!

It's going to depend on the games & what your monitor's refresh rate is. Per Techspot's benchmarks (http://www.techspot.com/review/1352-nvidia-geforce-gtx-1080-ti/), the lowest performance at 4K was with Deus Ex: Mankind Divided...but its 43FPS (4K, Very High Quality) was still the best performance of any GPU (squeaking by the Titan XP by a frame). For most of the other games they tested, it was able to hit 50-60FPS ranges on Ultra quality settings at 4K, & in some games (DOOM & Overwatch, for example) was even able to still get over 120FPS.

So, depending on the level of performance you want to have at 4K -- & especially depending on what your monitor can show -- a single 1080Ti will most likely provide what you need.

For 4K gaming, the primary thing is the GPU, as even Sandy Bridge i5 CPUs can handle the games (& they're much older than your Haswell i5). You'll want at least a GTX 1080, possibly even a GTX 1080Ti, but you'll have to make sure your PSU can handle it. 500W is probably on the border for those GPUs, especially if it's not a top-quality one. Do you know the make/model of the PSU & its exact output?

First, thank you for your reply!
And unfortunately I don't know my PSU info, but it's ok to upgrade that part. So, basically I should go for a GPU (and I need two, right?) and a monitor that can handle the resolution?
