So I recently thought about going into bitcoin mining and realized how much you actually need to know to be a serious miner. So I tried searching the web for a direction to follow and it just got me even more confused. Dose it matter what coin I mine? Which is the best algorithm for Nvidia pascal GPU's? Like just tell me which miner to go for and for which coin. Profits is SLIGHTLY important because I dont want to be mining for nothing like I know that the 1070 is not meant for mining but it can scrunch up 2 bucks a day or so but im so confused and my computer is filled with mining software. Which wallet do I choose? Help is really needed lol

Currently installed :

Nicehashminer

Minergate

Wallets :
Coinbase

Lol I dont even know what Im doing help!

Bitcoin mining with nVidia GPUs has not been viable for years; AMD GPUs have also become non-viable. Any serious miner probably has a bare minimum of a high five-figure investment in ASIC-based mining devices.
I did some experiments with mining myself a few years ago. I used a HD6790 for a proof-of-concept, then later a HD7970 to mine a couple of coins. The difficulty shot up so quickly that even the small ASIC I bought has not been worth running for well over a year; ten years ago it could have mined tens of thousands of dollars worth of BTC, today it probably uses as much in power as it can mine.

Bitcoin Mining with GPU can no longer be profitable, the coin rate has dropped several times and they have custom built rigs that do so many more hashes than a GPU that the return rate is negative. you will spend more on electricity than you will get back.
