Hello Which board? AsRock B350 Pro4 or AsRock X370 Killer SLI ?

I'll be getting 1700 CPU ryzen, i want to overclock to 3.8 to 4 GHz with voltage not much over 1.35 V (on AIR noctua NHD15 or equvalent). I want it as work station for graphic rendering etc. I will have it for at least another 5 years most likely or longer (currently have amd X6 1055T for almost 7 years...). I will not upgrade most likely on that board (buy some new ryzen in few years) or maybe i will upgrade but only once (no upgrades once two years for me like other users, im carefull with money :) ).

I do not want SLI gaming, but i will most likely use 2 GPUs in future for GPU rendering (which doesnt need SLI, so i dont think i need specifically X370 chipset), so no SLI gaming, but yes im planning tol have 2 GPUs most likely...

My question is:

Is the B350 Pro4 enough for me...? Or should i buy X370 Killer SLI...?

I wanted the X370 Killer SLI, but now im wondering... is it worth it? I will overclock but only modestly (1700 to 3.8 to 4 GHZ on AIR (noctua NHD15) with reasonable voltage (not much if all over 1.35 V)... And i dont need SLI (although i will be using 2 GPUs)...

im starting to think that i should be ok even with the B350 Killer Pro4...?

What do you think... does anybody here have B350 Killer Pro4 with overclocked CPUs...? How is it...?

The B350 series are not overclockers. If you want to overclock your 1700 to 3.8 - 4.0GHz (which is not easy on Ryzen btw). You might need the X370 series.

(My friend got the 1700X, X370 chipset, and watercooling and he only got to 3.9GHz @ 1.35V. You might have better luck)

I saw a lot of people on AMD subredit with B350 boards (even worse then AsRock with 9 phases VRM) with their Ryzens around 4 GHZ easily...

Also B350 are overclockable i dont know where you did got this info, only the lower chipsets (i dont even remember which ones) dont support OC

Asrock are currently the most behind with supply, so the reviews aren't there yet. As Thomas81br said, the b350 is fine for overclocking.
If I were you, I'd wait a little longer for A)stock to become available which leads to B) More reviews.

Both are good boards, but i you want to make your system more "futureproof", buy the killer sli because of the multigpu-support. Theres still a significant difference in price and both have dual-m.2. I would buy the killer sli, but if you are in really tight budget, buy a b350. I would buy an msi b350 board because theres only about 10$ difference in price and msi has propably the best software.

BTW thats stock voltage, so if you or one of your friends want an overclock that will make a noticeable difference in performance on almost any cpu, you need to overvolt.
