Edit: Solved.
I have never overclocked RAM before and have virtually zero knowledge how-to! I want to quickly overclock my ram to get the most out of em, without burning their longevity life potential with a simple SAFE/FAST overclock.
I saw a video from Digital Foundry which showed Skylake/Kabylake processor performance scaling better in gaming with higher ram speeds, and thought id try and figure out how to go higher than 3200. ASUS recommended these specific ram models and everything is supposedly compatible for XMP 2.0 profiles.
I just bought these upgrades and have them coming in tomorrow (upgrading from an FX-8350)
CPU: i7-7700k Kaby-lake
Mobo: ASUS PRIME Z270-A
Ram: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3200MHz C16 Desktop Memory Kit – White (CMK16GX4M2B3200C16W)
My questions:
QUESTION 1: What is the max OC limit for DDR4 3200mhz ram?
QUESTION 2: What is a safe OC for my ram cards?
QUESTION 3: Can I OC the ram with a few clicks? Is that what XMP Profiles is for?
Am I right to assume that ASUS PRIME Z270-A has set XMP profiles for selection to quickly call it a day.?
