Hi guys, new to this thread. Been out of the game for a few years and ready to do a new build. I'd appreciate any feedback..

CPU: i5 7600k
Mobo: asrock z270 killer sli/ac
Memory: patriot viper elite 8gb 2x4gb
Gpu: msi GeForce gtx 1070
Power supply: ocz 600msxp (it's a few years old from my previous build, is it compatible with this new build?)
CPU cooler: cooler master 212 evo (I think that's the one I have from my last build a few years ago)
Ssd: adata premier sp550 2.5" 480gb (is this enough?)
Case: the one from my last build not sure the name.

Will these components work with each other? Any advice? I really appreciate any feedback..

Solution

1070 will likely have a slighlty higher power draw then the 660, but either way I would cetainly not put the life of my $400 GPU in the hands of an old OCZ psu.

The Sesonic G serries PSU has been on sale a lot lately, a 650w unit would be a really great match.
Looks like a very solid build shouldent have any problems as long as your power supply has same conection as mobo 212 evo should work as long as it has 1151 socket support 500 gb ssd should be plenty if you plan on downloading lots of games tho i would recomend a 1tb hard drive for mass storage

Assuming your case is deep enough for the 1070 then everything is compatible.
I would urge you to get crucial mx300 or samsung evo for SSD, that Adata leaves a lot to be desired if you are already used to SSD drives.

I don't know what your file needs are but most get a 250gb SSD and a 1tb HDD vs a 500gb SSD.
If you constantly install/uninstall games I would keep them on HDD so you dont wear out the SSD too fast.

I appreciate the feedback.. if the cooler from last build was for i5 2500 lga 1155, would it still work for i5 7600k lga 1151? And as far as the power supply, what refers to power supply compatibility? Is it form factor? If my current power supply was atx, it should work on this new atx build right?

The cooler mounting holes are the same from socket 1155 to socket 1151 (actually they have been the same since socket 775) so you should have driect compatibility.

In regards to your question about power supply compatibility can you be more specific? If you just mean physically fitting then yes ATX form power supply will fit any ATX standard case. If you are refering to anything else then it comes down to what connectors you need and what power level you need.

Depending on age of PSU and what GPU you were running before that older 600w ocz might not have what it takes anymore due to capacitor aging.
Those OCZ were not bad PSUs but were not in the top quality category either.
