im having issues with my pc shutting down when i have my gpu in it (especially if i play games. Watching, browsing or listening to music is fine but games make it shutdown after 5-10 mins) I tried removing it and the pc works fine doing all that previously shuts it off. I am worried that my power isnt enough or is my card broken? Here are my specs:
Motherboard: ASROCK H61m
CPU: i3 3220 (3rd gen)
RAM: HyperX Fury 1x8
PSU: Delux 500w
GPU: Asus GeForce gt730 2gb
and just to add, i have one cooling fan aside from the fan the cpu already has. In addition to that, I just really want to play minecraft so are there any ddr3 vid cards which can perform better than what i have rn? Something cheap but works really good.

Solution
yes it sounds like your GT730 is faulty

since Minecraft reccomened (not minimum) are
CPU: Intel Core i3 or AMD Athlon II (K10) 2.8 GHz
Video Card: GeForce 2xx Series or AMD Radeon HD 5xxx Series (Excluding Integrated Chipsets) with OpenGL 3.3

I can say confidently: a 1050 is overkill.
I would rather suggest a Radeon HD 7570 1GB GDDR5 PCIe 2.1 x16 for 44$ at newegg.com or better a simple 750ti on ebay for 65$.

as for the power supply,
the total full on load of your PC with the HD 7570 would be 210W
the total full on load of your PC with the GTX 750ti would be 227W
The GT 730 doesn't use a lot of power, so I'd tend to think something is wrong with the card, not the power supply. Although your power supply is a 'Delux 500W" and that sounds sketchy to me. So it could be the power supply.

Minecraft is a CPU intensive game, so it'll run as well as your i3 can handle. You don't have to have a DDR3 videocard, I don't know why you have that idea. In fact, a DDR5 videocard is what you want for gaming. We are long past the time that DDR3 cards are preferable. What do you consider 'cheap'? A used card, like an HD 7750/7770 will let you play Minecraft better than a 730. Of new cards, an RX 460 will do the job.

ddr3 cards are usually garbage, avoid them

get a gtx 1050 or rx 460

also that power supply is highly suspect, try another one if you can

replace it on principle
