I just build a new PC, and I am having some problems with my fps while playing star wars battlefront. I'm usually at 60 fps, although it never goes over and I can't figure out how to unlock it. However, I dip below 60 at times. I've seen other benchmarks on youtube hit as high as 170 fps using a gtx 1080. Any way to resolve this? Here are my specs: Asus z270e motherboard, gskill ripjaws 16gb 3200mhz, evga gtx 1080.

Make sure you disable V-Sync, it should be in the settings in-game or you can disable it in the profile on Nvidia GeForce Experience. V-Sync locks your FPS to the monitor's refresh rate which i imagine would be 60 FPS unless you run one with higher.

I disabled V-Sync, and the fps went as high as 80. However, the fps still dips below 60 at times.

Are you running at higher in-game graphics settings and or Resolution then the Benchmark your comparing to? Sometimes frame drops just happen in intensive areas if you push the settings right up and are running a high resolution. Also, what CPU do you have? You didn't list one in the post.

I'm running Max settings, and some of the benchmarks I've looked at are running Max settings. The processor I am using is an intel i7 7700k.

Well the CPU defiantly isn't the issue it's more than powerful enough. Do you know what resolution your monitor is? 1080p, 1440p, 4K, etc?

Its a 1080p monitor (Asus MX279H). I finally saw another benchmark video that shows the game running around the same fps fluctuation as my pc. So I'm guessing other people either overclocked their gpu's or are really running SLI. I used Nvidia to optimize my game to its preferred settings. It runs everything on ultra, but the resolution scale is 175% instead of the full 200%. Now I have a stable 60 frames, and it hasn't dipped yet.
