Specs:
Mobo: Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming 7
CPU: i7 4790K
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 2400MHz 2x8Gb (Ddr3) CMY16GX3M2A2400C11A
PSU: 1000w PSU (Can't remember brand)
Storage: Crucial MX300 1TB M.2 (2280) Internal SSD

My question is this. Am I going to be able to get the full benefits of my RAM even though it's technically not supported on my Mobo? After first installing it, my display ports stop working and I had a couple of other issues. I troubleshot and fixed the problems there and everything seems to be working fine.

I do have the latest version of the bios.

Your motherboard supports up to DDR3 3200, so your DDR3 2400 should work just fine. You just have to enable the XMP settings in BIOS. As for the problems your getting, it depends on exactly what your "other issues" are. Tho if you're concerned with memory issues, you can download a RAM diagnostic software like Memtest86+ and run it off a USB drive and see if you come up with anything.

I enabled the XMP settings in my BIOS and it did change things. I noticed the clock frequency and multiplier both to proper ratios. I'm also kind of lazy and don't want to Memtest anything; mostly because I feel somewhat terrified of it. (Irrational I know.)
But other than that everything seems to be fine.

I did have the problem with my display ports not working before. The solution to it at the time however was to delete the registry entry : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers
This time it was the power settings.

I wouldn't worry about running a memtest. It's a diagnostic not a stress tester, so you could boot it in to the testing and then go to sleep for the night and let it chug away.

As for the display port issue, that sounds like a driver got jacked up. When in doubt, reinstall it. Just make sure you select the option to do a clean install when you're going through the process.
