So i have read here that the difference is just that the fan will turn off if its not under load, but is it just that? Is there any other difference between a strix and a non strix gpu? Im asking this because a strix gpu has 17% more costly that a non strix, and thats plenty of money for just turning off a fan.

Well reviews I have see of the 1070 Strix and non Strix cards... the strix rated lower overall... just a though

stix is pretty much just a logo at this point. the cooler aint the best, nor the quietest and the gpu's aint the best binned samples. they are taken by rog parts.
basically strix is slightly better than stock but only because of the cooler and comes with a slightly higher boost clock.

The strix is pretty much a longer card with bigger heat sink and three fans. Maybe a couple extra lighting features. You can get the same higher clock speeds by choosing the non-strix OC card.

i have gtx 1050 ti strix, temp is good, fan wont even turn on at 42 degrees bec of how big the heat sync is, you can also OC it trough gpu tweak and the only LED here is the logo and the 6 pin connector
i believe strix is better at temp compare to Phoenix asus 1050ti
