Microsoft blocking Windows 7 updates on newer processors?

According to Microsoft they are blocking or even sabotaging updates on Windows 7 and 8.1 on Kaby Lake and Ryzen systems on purpose. Is this true? I will not upgrade to Windows 10 no matter what happens so what will happen? Is Microsoft seriously sabotaging or blocking updates or are they just sending out a warning? Should I get a Kaby Lake processor or a Skylake processor? Has someone tested this?

What do you mean by conspiracy theory? Are you saying it will work fine anyway? And I would also use Linux if all games supported it but they don't so I can't switch to Linux.

Yes there are drivers for all of those actually, the only driver missing is the integrated GPU in the i7 7700K but I'm not gonna use that GPU anyway.

All MSI motherboards offer Windows 7 and 8.1 drivers and I'm not using netflix so that won't be an issue. Why wouldn't Windows 7 be supported? It's not obselete until 2020 and is the most popular OS the in world.

its not just the CPU's its also the platform windows 7 can work but nothing is guaranteed to fully work starting with 100 series intel platforms . Microsoft has removed things from 7 to help prevent its install and motherboard venders offer a tool to install 7 that slipstreams the ''missing '' drivers

don't see how your surprised by any of this ? all been reported and covered from skylake / win-10 first release .

you build to how they now want , not as you want or need . look at vid cards and what little they now support ?? I look for the next series of cards to drop windows 7 right along with how xp and vista are no longer supported and right along with how analog/ vga support is now gone like from the NVidia 10 series that all was supported with the 900 series.

your own ''personal'' computer is a thing of the past then add that malware called win-10 on top of that as it the greatest OS ever [for Microsoft ] you think on what malware does and think on how win-10 behaves and its ''features'' ?? that's a fine line

to be honest all Microsoft got going for it is gaming ? Linux dose everything else as good or better and ease of installing and playing a game due to direct x proprietary used . and that's the only real reason I use windows but luckly I don't need 10 for that in any way

I already knew newer processors wouldn't be supported on Windows 7 and 8.1 but I never thought Microsoft would sabotage the updates on purpose, that's crazy! I think I'm going to have to buy the i7 6700K instead.

your kidding right ??? better read some of them links on that skylake and 7 use you may find your in the same boat overall

then if Microsoft did not sabatoge 7 no one would use 10 ? I sure a heck won't and why your forced to and strong armed in to it

Come March, Microsoft decided to respond to the backlash by adding an extra 12 months onto the support period for Skylake systems.

see ? I cant trust Microsoft in any way shape of form . I had to turn off updating to insure they don't slip something under my nose it got that bad with them . notice how they changed the updates support pages so theres no longer file info on what you get in there updates anymore ??? hmmmm.....

I never support an6y game that requires steam ,uplay or origin malware clients or mandatory internet connection and forced updating and content

I like to game but not that bad to turn over my hard drive to them to do so . they can keep there crap games and i''ll keep my money and privacy and control of my system .

Okay screw this, I'm gonna buy the i7 7700K and just disable windows updates completely, then there's nothing Microsoft can do about it.

the point is we don't want windows 10. for whatever reason. it's a matter of ability to have a choice. it is now taken away from us. we now must install windows 10 to run our new cpu when our old system breaks (often intentionally by microcode -- g3258 anyone?)

But you were told you would need Win10 when you bought the new hardware. So if you did not want Win10 then you should not have chosen new hardware.

I support people having choices, you had a choice, you may not like the outcome of your choice but it was not a surprise and you were informed prior to choosing new hardware that requires Win 10.

thing is Microsoft removes things folks used and enjoyed and added data collecting forced updating voice recognition collecting spyware and backdoors

if they would just make a OS like they use to things would be much better thing is its so untrustworthy even to the point older great pc games that came on a retail disk [ones that did not require steam, uplay, origin and there malware] now may not even work unless you go get ti from steam uplay or origin ???

never had any issue with that with XP-vista-7 or 8 ?? all works and installs and plays just fine and dandy with out issue or any mandatory internet connection forced content or downloads orr updates or clients or anything out side me my computer and the retail disk copy of the full game ??
