Hope this is the right place to post this.
Last week I got a new Asus strix rx 480 oc 8gb gpu to replace my AMD 7950. I installed it and my pc was running fine, ran a valley benchmark and it still seemed fine. Then when I started playing PUBATTLEGROUNDS beta the computer crashed after about 20 mins, the crash I have looks and sounds the same as in this youtube video.[ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vaxJHaR0Gng&index=5&list=LLuA9MPnkiCooZ2ENMDZD8kA ] its not my youtube video but its the same crash.

I then tried more benchmarks with slight overclocking and underclocking and sometimes it would pass sometimes it would crash,

Also tried playing BF1 and it worked fine for 60/90 mins then crashed.
After a lot of googling I found out that my psu Corsair cx750m is apparently not a very good psu. Is the psu likely to be the issue or does anyone have any suggestions as to what could be the cause.
I have removed the new gpu and put my 7950 back in and everything is working fine.
I have uninstalled/reinstalled drivers. I don't have another pc to try the card in.
Thanks for any help you can give.

My setup is
sabretooth fx990 r2.0 mobo
AMD 8350 black edition cpu
Patriot viper ddr3 16gb
Noctua NH-D14 cpu cooler
Corsair CX750M psu
Two case fans in /One exhaust out

Solution
Hi,
I had this problem to with my ASUS RX480 STRIX. I tried overvolting, setting the power limit to the max and changing out components such as mobo and psu nothing helped... I had had such a problem on an old pc of mine to and found out that it was a registry problem on accident by fixing problems with the registry in ccleaner. I didn't think it was a registry problem with my RX 480 system but I might aswell try it, downloaded the free version ccleaner and after fixing problems with the registry I didn't see a freeze of grey screen with my rx 480 ever again.
I can't promise this is going to be the case with every rx 480 but you might aswell try it because it only takes a minute or two.
I hope this helped you!
Have a great day (and sry...

Thanks for your help. I think the problem is fixed, as you've said i deleted old drivers [which i did the first time as well] but this time i didn't install new drivers from the disc which came with the gpu, i went to the website and got the latest version. then in bios i turned off "AMD Auto overclock" Not sure which of these things was the issue but so far things look ok. it passed the RealBench stress test and i'v run vally and heaven a few times and tonight i'll try some games. i'll report back over the weekend if i run in to trouble. Thanks again for your help.

Thanks for your comment, some sound advice there. Your contribution to thread was unsurpassed But i tried Lul and it didnt work.
Anyway im still getting crashes so iv ordered another card which should arrive today so im going to see if the issue persists with the new one, if it does then i guess i'll have to get a new PSU, but iv heard a few people with the same issue found that its a problem with the card and for them a new card solved the crashes. I'll update when the new card arrives.

I'm in the pretty much same situation as you replaced my HD 6950 and have the Corsair TX850W. Did you find out what was up?

Was it PSU, I find it hard to believe as 750 and 850W are pretty high so cant understand why it would need so much power

MY FRIEND JUST FUCKING SOLVED IT. DEELETE ASUS GPU TWEAK. THEN, USE MSI AFTERBURNER SOFTWARE TO DECREASE THE CLOCK TO STABLE LEVELS. THE CLOCK THAT WAS GIVEN TO YOU WAS UNSTABLE.
BRING DOWN CORE CLOCK TO 1200
AND BRING DOWN MEMORY CLOCK TO 1266.
I SWEAR TO GOD IT WAS SOLVED.
