Hey, I recently turned on my computer and after entering my password it came up with the message "preparing your desktop" Which doesn't usually pop up for me, once the computer had loaded my desktop was default and had nothing on it. I proceeded to restart my computer and everything was back to normal, Could this mean that my hard drive is breaking?

Solution
If you have a solid state and it tested fine, I'd just chalk it up to Windows not loading something properly that one time. As long as you have backups of your files, you should be OK to just use the system unless this happens to you several times.

I have downloaded the utility and scanned it multiple times yet it says that there is nothing wrong, on benchmarks it shows as performing below expectations and it is just generally slow. My computer is freezing occasionally now and i think it must be the hard drive?

Won't hurt to try a new hard drive and a clean Windows setup. If you don't have a solid state hard drive would be a good time to switch to one.

Yeah i currently have two hard drives, one ssd which has my windows and a few games and a hard drive which has most of my stuff which made me think it was that hard drive as when my computer turned on the windows loaded but not the desktop etc.
