Hey all,
I am currently using an AM3 socket processor on my GA-990FXA-D3 which supports AM3+ sockets.
If i buy an AM3+ compatible processor would i need an upgrade to my BIOS ?

Old processor - Phenom II X4 965 (AM3)
New target - FX8350 Black edition (AM3+)

No because they show BIOS updates newer than the 8350, if it could have supported it they would have posted it

Also like I said weak VRMs. There are boards out there that do support the 8350 that run it horribly because of this issue. Crashes and instability.

To be honest, theres a chance it will work with the latest BIOS update, but most likely it will not.

Even if it did that board has too few and weak VRMs, the CPU would run very poorly on it. Unstable.
