Hi, a few years ago I first got into pc gaming, and now im looking into a first real upgrade. Im currently using:

gpu: gtx 770
cpu: i5 4670k
ram: 16 gb

I dont want to upgrade my cpu, only my gpu, so im afraid of bottlenecking my cpu, which I obviously do not want.
I need a new gpu for 1080p gaming on a 144 hz monitor. Im also happy with getting 60 fps, if it means I can maw out most settings.
My new gpu also needs to last at least 3-4 years, because arround then Im planning to upgrade everything and go to higher resolution gaming.

Im looking at the gtx 1060 and rx 480, both seem to be good altho i dont know if they will be good enough, or which one is better.

Where I live the gtx 1060 is arround 50 euro more expensive then the rx 480, so that would be something to keep in mind aswell.
So I can use some advice here.
Would it be worth it to get a rx 480? Should I go for the 8gb version to make it more future proof?
What brands are good options to go for?

Thx for your help guys,

You will be able to run either the 1060-6GB or the RX 480-8GB with no bottlenecking problems whatsoever. You might even get away with a GTX 1070 but that would be the limit. If you chose a 1070 I would be overclocking the CPU to remove some of the performance gap.

The 1060-6GB is about 5-6% faster than the RX 480 but you have to look at specific games to see which works better.

It is worth considering maxing out your GPU capability here but it is not much difference for 50 Euros. Tending to lean towards the RX 480 if it is cheaper.

Now while we see little difference in a lot of current games, some are moving to greater than 4GB VRAM usage so it would...

As for brands, Asus, EVGA, Gigabyte, MSI, Sapphire, XFX, Zotac all make models which are good. But if you come across a card you like just look for a review on the web, there tends to be a lot.
