Hi,

I'm looking for a new motherboard. The problem is that I can't see which one to buy from these two:

MSI Z270 SLI PLUS
or
MSI Z270 GAMING M3

My goal is a gaming pc but no SLI or Crossfire. I will get a 7700K and have a 980Ti.
Any reason to buy the 'gaming' one instead of the SLI Plus one?

Those motherboards will work well with an i7-7700K + GTX 980Ti. Reason for choosing one over the other would really depend on your preferred features, number of connectors/ports, and, to an extent, aesthetics/form.

PLUS: Uses Intel I219V LAN Controller | M3: Uses Killer E2500 LAN Controller
PLUS: Has a Serial Port and Parallel Port Connector | M3: Has a Parallel Port Connector
PLUS: Has 6x Audio rear jacks | M3: Has 5x Audio rear jacks + 1x Optical S/PDIF output
PLUS: Black + Steel-Themed Design | M3: Black + Blood-Red-Lining Design

The rest of the features/ports/connectors are almost identical.

Hope these info would help you choose what's best for your needs/wants.
