Google Chrome - New Tab Issue

Hello everyone,

New to the forum, though have read through it a few times. This isn't of high priority seen as it's quite minor, but for some reason when I open a new tab in Google Chrome, "chrome://newtab" appears just after "New Tab". I don't know what's causing this and I haven't changed anything in relation to the program.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Hmm, I just haven't seen it occur on any other PC I've worked on. Is this a Windows 7 thing?

I don't think so. I mean its happening on the PC I am on now, and happens on my PCs at home. This one is win 7 at home I have Win 10 and a Chromebook.

Its normal, Chrome works off command lines in the address bar.

I get the same thing on Windows 8.1 Pro. Never noticed it before, but I don't consider it a problem.

i am getting the same issue as of a few hours ago. seems like there is a similar post on the win10 forums as well. Maybe it's a chrome update?

This definitely is not normal. It used to stay on "New tab" up until this evening

Mine is now showing "New Tab", rather than what it was showing a few days ago when you raised the question, so who knows what Google is up to.

It seems a Chrome update this morning now has fixed this issue and it says "New Tab" now
