Okay so i'm building a computer and first thing i'm buying is the motherboard then ram since I have the cpu , hard drive, graphics card, and all that crap from taking apart laptops... anyways so I need DDR2 8 ram but one of the vendors on amazon has 8 Ram 4x2 For AMD Motherboards but my motherboard is intel and my brother took out ram from a HP that is an AMD to a Intel Toshiba and it worked so i'm very confused and I don't want to buy the wrong thing

You can but ddr2 didn't really make 2 stick of 4 gb usally ddr2 stick are 2 gb each stick, unless you get one of the special rams that only works with amd cpu or intel cpu only but they are not common now days.

The 8gb for amd is meant for amd only the reason the the one from the hp worked because it normal memory not the special one for amd only. And if you board has 4 ram slot just get 4 stick of 2 gb that will make 8gb. Ik it possible to find 2 stick of 8gb for intel boards only but they are not easy to find. make sure you don't buy ecc ram some board may work with it but it slow.
