Any GPU with a PCIe x16 interface (such as the GTX 1080 and all others) can be used on any motherboard with a PCIe x16 slot (which all others do, unless your motherboard is really ancient).
The question would be:
1) Is your CPU powerful enough to avoid hindering the performance of the powerful GTX 1080?
2) Does your PSU have enough amps at the +12V rail to power the GTX 1080 as well as supplementary PCIE connectors?
3) Will you be gaming at least on 1440p-resolution monitor rather than 1080p to take advantage of the GTX 1080's power?
4) Does your chassis have enough clearance (length) for a GTX 1080 to be installed inside?
