So I have an old Alienware from 2012 and the BIOS is on A03 and the current version available is A11. I'm looking at getting a 1050 ti so I needed to check to see if the MOBO could power the GPU like the card needs and also if a BIOS update would be worth doing.

I have an Alienware 07JNH0 motherboard.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

in the end any upgrade you do is all your own risk . the prebuilt manufactures only guarantees there computers work as sold to you as is out of the box from there factory with what they put on it , not a drop more

there in business to sell you whole ready to go computers , and dont worry about you upgrading them or giving you support to do so . thats not how they make there money they prefer you run to wal-mart and buy there ''better'' latest models

I li9ke this from here LOL.....

''Hello Alette60,

You could upgrade to any video card out there on the market''

'' am trying to install this card but it does not seem to be working?;

why not use or look over the dell forums with alienware users posting on what upgrades are working or not on you model ?? maybe fine then maybe a no go ? best do some homework before you buy it

I have checked in there, but the list only goes up to a 780 ti and it did not seem to allow me to post in those forums for whatever reason. Seemed easier to just ask in here instead of just going right through. There hasn't been an updated list is the issue with those forums. I've got an Alienware Aurora R4. Most forum posts for upgrades have to do with CPU which doesn't really answer my question.
