Hello everyone.

I'd like to start by saying that I'm not THAT good with computers. I'm competent enough to install major components like a graphics card or RAM, but aside from that, I don't know that much. I just upgraded my graphics card from a EVGA GTX 680 to an EVGA GTX 1070. I've upgraded the graphics card once before so I'm familiar with how to do it. When I installed the new card however, I get no start up screen. The computer beeps as it usually does when I first turn it on (something to do with the BIOS I think?) but then I get no startup screen and it gives me 1 long beep and 2 short beeps followed by continuous beeping. I have since reinstalled my old card and now the computer boots up as it normally does and all is well. I'm not sure if the new card is DOA or if I just missed a step somewhere in the installation process. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I bought the computer pre-built a number of years ago. It's a Gateway FX6860-UR10P.

Specs:
Operating System: Windows 10 Home 64-bit
System Manufacturer: Gateway
System Model: FX6860
BIOS: P03-A1
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.4GHz
Memory: 16384MB RAM
Video Card: Nvidia Geforce GTX 680 with 4gb VRAM

Solution
Gateway system, but you say it's an Acer motherboard? Seems a bit odd. Very likely the OEM motherboard is not compatible with the new video card, happens quite often.

Which power supply and motherboard?? This kind of thing happens when u don't plug in power supply in gtx 1070 or the motherboard PCie is not compatible(outdated) with new card..

Try putting ur old card , boot up PC, uninstall gtx 680 drivers and then upgrade to new card, boot up and install gtx 1070 drivers...

I'm pretty confident that I plugged the power supply in to the card. It's a 750W power supply and the motherboard is an Acer but I'm not sure of the specific model. I'll try your other suggestion.

I tried what you said. No luck. Same thing happens.
