I am looking for something to run Ubuntu or a sister or brother version of Linux, but Linux it most run. I am still deciding on which version. I want to buy a pre built that will be compatible or if anyone has ideas for a cheap build for Linux, sub $500 range for a basic PC, will run two monitors and will mostly use for browsing the internet and uploading files to the internet. Any ideas for a pre-built or build?

Better build, there's some poor quality components in chemmajorp's build.

You steal chemmajorp's build and make it better? lol, or you too just think alike? Why did you suggest these specific parts?

He's not "stealing" it, he just doesn't like the power supply I used. Not sure why he got rid of the SSD though. The Pentium is the best bang for the buck processor on the market right now, 2 fast cores and 4 threads for $60. That RAM got chosen because it's cheap. I chose the H110 board because it's cheap and has all the features you need, but I'd imagine he chose the B250 board because there's a slight chance that the H110 board isn't on the newest BIOS when you get it and needs to be updated. The case is small, cheap, and does the job. The 500B PSU doesn't have anything particularly wrong with it, the Seasonic is just slightly higher quality. Doesn't really matter IMO for this build but he feels more strongly about it than I do. It's probably better to get at the end of the day.

No, there's a better motherboard and higher quality PSU.
Given its going to have the same budget range, most builds are going to look similar, its just that i've had several B1 and Nex PSUs come back to my shop DOA or malfunctioning, and they're not very good quality and are manufactured by HEC.
His build is good for the most part, don't get me wrong; there's just a few things i'd like to change personally. :)
You should always go for at least a B series mobo for higher quality components, a better sound card and features.
My bad though, I meant to put in a different SSD instead but I went through the normal patterns and put in a HDD instead. :p
Here's an edited one.
